DevOps Engineer

Together, these data provide a rich foundation for evaluating the market and help professionals develop hyper-personalized, actionable insights in seconds.

 

We are looking for a DevOps engineer to continuously improve the architecture of Perchwell by enhancing the system quality, standardization, and automation; and join the Engineering  team i in adopting best build, testing and development practices 


Your impact


  • You'll ensure seamless feature delivery by collaborating with application teams to satisfy infrastructure requirements, assisting with CI/CD release processes, and troubleshooting code and deployment issues 

  • You'll ensure business needs are met as a key contributor in requirement analysis and evaluation of new technologies

  • You’ll design and develop devops tools through the use of modern scripting languages


Minimum qualifications:


  • 3+ years experience creating and maintaining highly available critical systems

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience

  • Experience working with AWS and it offerings (EC2, S3, ECR, Route53, RDS, etc.) 

  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications 

  • Strong understanding of DNS, CDNs, SSL, and networking concepts (VPC, subnetting, VPNs, etc)

  • Familiarity with software security best practices 

  • Strong command of version control systems and policies, preferably with Git


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Fluent in Python and Python testing best practices; experience in Go and/or Ruby on Rails is a plus

  • Strong experience with IAC tools, particularly Terraform or Ansible

  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (we use Elasticsearch and Postgres)

  • Familiarity with a range of monitoring tools (VictorOps, CloudWatch, Runscope, Sentry, etc.) 

  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (particularly Travis)

  • Analytical mindset and an ability to identify and weigh architectural design tradeoffs

  • An active member of the New York tech community a plus
